"D9620 In Action" Photo Competition 2023-24

Terms and Conditions of Entry

We are having a District photo competition to capture D9620 In Action and increase our pool of public image photographs for use in promoting Rotary across our District. We are seeking "action shots" of our members at work on Rotary related projects and related activities. By "action shots" we mean photographs of members at work on a project or a fundraiser, as opposed to group poses, and award presentation photos.

To assist with consideration of your entries the following terms and conditions have been developed to guide you and to assist in judging.

1. The competition will be launched in September 2023 and run until the end of January 2024.
2. The competition is open to all members of the District (including Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors).
3. Entries must be the original work of the entrant.
4. A limit of 3 images per individual.
5. Each entry will be judged individually.
6. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes will be awarded for the entries deemed by a judging panel to be the best.
7. All entries will become a part of the District 9620 photo library and be available for use in District publications.
8. The entrant is deemed to have accepted sole responsibility for ensuring that the work submitted does not infringe on any relevant copyright.
9. Where a person is identified in a photo you must obtain their consent. You must inform them you are submitting the photo to a competition, and it will become part of the Photographic Library to be held by Rotary District 9620. It may be used now or in the future for promotional use.
10. Photos taken with a phone or with a digital camera may be submitted.
11. The quality of an entry is important, the highest resolution available of the photo should be submitted.
• Smartphone images must be supplied at "Actual Size".
• Digital Camera images must be of high resolution with a minimum file size of 1MB and a maximum file size of 5MB.
12. All photographs will remain the property of District 9620. They will become part of the Photographic Library for Rotary District 9620. Photographs, in whole or in part "cropped", may be used in future production of promotional materials, this includes but is not restricted to website, social media, flyers, banners, and marketing material.
13. All entries must include the photographer's Name, Date taken, Location, Name of Club you belong to, description of the photo and why you think it depicts "D9620 In Action".
14. Judging will be done by a panel appointed by the DG of District 9620.
15. Judges will consider:
• Visual and aesthetic appeal
• Mood (happy, fun, enjoyment)
• Does it reflect and show D9620 In Action
16. Winners will be recognized at The District Conference in March 2024.
